Purpose
The living room is usually the prettiest room in the house. It is also the least used. We’re asking you to take back your living room. Find a purpose for this space. Serve coffee and dessert in your living room when friends are over. Have a glass of wine in your living room after a busy day. Make your living room “eye candy.” It should be a visual delight every time you walk by.
Focal Points
Fireplaces are the most common focal points in living rooms. A great piece of art, a commanding piece of furniture, or a great view could be the focal point in your living room. Center furniture to emphasize the focal point you have chosen.
Intimate Conversation Seating
You should group seating so you can talk without yelling across the room. In other words, have enough seating for typical occasions and group seating so it’s comfortable to talk to one another.
