Are you having overnight guests staying in your home? Add these thoughtful details to make their stay extra nice.

1.  Think Fresh!  Start with fresh flowers or a pretty plant by their bedside.  Make sure those guest sheets are freshly laundered since they may have been sitting in the linen closet for a long time.  Everything should be in good condition.  If your sheets, blankets, pillows, or towels are worn, it’s time to go shopping for something new.  Make sure the closet is fresh and clean with hanging space for guests and nice hangers.

2.  Think Variety!  The expensive down pillows you bought may not work for someone with allergies.  Have some hypoallergenic options available, along with different blankets, different size towels, and extra washcloths.

3.  Think Luxury!  Leave out water, fruit, candies, and some new magazines.  Have a TV or radio in the room and a good reading light.  Make sure you have soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower.  Consider buying an extra large bath towel or bath sheet for guests.  Place a bathrobe in the closet.  Stock a basket or drawer with new travel size packages of aspirin and other pain relievers, Pepto-Bismol, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and disposable razors.  Tell your guests where to find everything in their room.

Do You Love To Wrap Presents Or Is It A Chore?

Giving beautifully wrapped presents is fun.  Make the whole experience more enjoyable with our 3 easy steps.

1.  Setting up a place to gift wrap can be a lot of fun.  Do you have a multi-functional space that would work well for this activity?  Consider ways to make it work better for you.  It’s easiest to wrap on a counter height surface that’s 36″ high and to have all your supplies in the same space.  Can you fit a small, counter height table into your space?  You can find some great table options online at Pottery Barn, Target, Crate & Barrel, and other retailers.  We love this whimsical picture from Pottery Barn with all their great organizational products.

2.  Buying fun supplies will get you in the mood to gift wrap.  If your storage space is limited, you should consider one standard look that you can use for most of your packages.  Specialty stores like Tiffany & Jo Malone have a gift wrap that is their signature.  Pick your signature wrap for this holiday season and you’ll need fewer supplies.

3.  Planning a time to wrap presents is a must!  You can’t be exhausted or rushed.  Be kind to yourself this holiday season.  Get your calendar out and pencil in time right now when you can wrap up those beautiful gifts.

3 Secrets To A Beautiful Thanksgiving Table

Do you need some new inspiration for your Thanksgiving table?

Here are 3 tricks to setting an inspirational table, whether you are using what you have or buying something new.

1.  For your Thanksgiving Table, consider the height of your centerpiece and don’t let it interfere with conversation.  Either stay lower than eye level or use a vase that raises the arrangement above eye level.  Make sure you can see across the table without a huge obstruction.  We recommend that you don’t limit yourself to flowers.  It’s fun to rub a little olive oil on gourds, small pumpkins, acorns, and pomegranates and place them around the table.  If you like, you can add small arrangements of flowers instead of one large centerpiece.

2.  Add interest to your table by varying the heights of things.  Place some food on footed cake stands.  Add some tall candlesticks.  Mix in branches (real or faux) that undulate on your table.  If you have a side buffet table, go high with style as shown in the photo below.

3.  Layer colors and textures on your table.  You could put colorful place mats over a solid tablecloth.  Try a contrasting color for the napkin with pretty napkin rings or ribbons.  Add colorful stemware.  Use a charger under your place setting.  If you have some cute decorative objects like small wooden boxes or ceramic fruit, these can be added around the table.

We love these pictures from Country Living Magazine and have handpicked some of our favorite items that you can purchase online to get a great look for your table.  Click here to see our picks for your Thanksgiving table.
