Layer Drapery Panels Over Blinds For Fabulous Window Coverings
Summer time and the living is easy. Casual is in. Fussy is out. So it’s hard to talk about dressing your windows. But that’s just what we were asked this week.
Q: I have wood blinds in my master bedroom. Should I spend money to upgrade to wood shutters or should I spend money to add drapery panels? I want to make my master bedroom a retreat.
A: By all means, spend your money on fabulous drapery panels that you layer over the existing wood blinds. We love this picture from Better Homes and Gardens showing the luxurious effect. Splurge on the fabrics but save on yardage by adding stationary side panels. You’ll need some fabulous drapery hardware or a fabric valance to finish the effect.
If you need help selecting the perfect drapery fabric or drapery hardware, we would love to provide designer advice and curated design.
